Yvonne Madden, Employment Facilitator

yvonne3-smlA native of Ennis, Yvonne spent a number of years working in London and Dublin before returning to her home town and joining Employability Clare in 2004. Working part-time, Yvonne is an Employment Facilitator covering the Ennis area. However, having taken a rather quantum leap in recent years for a townie out to the country, Yvonne can also be found getting involved with local employers in the Clarecastle/Newmarket-on-Fergus areas. Yvonne loves the dual focus which the job entails – meeting with clients, helping to understand where they are coming from, trying to get to and determining clients skills and abilities and, on the other hand, meeting with potential employers, understanding their requirements – with the ultimate aim of matching the needs of both client and employer, leading to a win: win.

Yvonne was selected to lead Career Link 2007, a highly successful national pilot project initiated by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment. Its external evaluator, Josephine Lally, commented: “Clearly, Career Link 2007 has brought about positive change in the lives and general state of mind of the clients who interfaced with the project.

The clients gained confidence, energy and motivation from being involved with and supported by Career Link 2007.”Yvonne has a BA in Education and Training, a National Certificate in Business Studies/Office Administration and an ALCM in Speech and Drama. In her spare time, Yvonne can be found writing poetry. She is also a committee member of the Clare Branch of the Irish Pony Club.
